February 17, 2021 – Richard Queen, Director of Data Solutions at Memorial Health in Ohio, recently met with Healthcare to discuss how his organization is utilizing technology to drive value-based care. A self-proclaimed “tech geek,” Queen is focused on locating ways to reduce costs, close care gaps, and improve overall patient outcomes.
Queen is helping Memorial Health in Ohio do this by focusing on four areas; provider experience, patient experience, population health, and reducing cost. The latter two are the areas with a strong value-based care focus. Queen created CareBridge, software that pulls data from many sources, enabling that data to be combined with clinical data to provide evidence-based preventative care. The goal is to use CareBridge to manage chronic diseases and standard of care like mammograms or bone density scans. The software can stratify data by risk factor, allowing physicians to identify the right complement of care for each patient at the right time.
